  • tscmd parameters

    Hi,

the readme file for tscmd utility says "Server, User, and Setting are required". I am trying to use it to change the idle timeout in 50 users properties (I have to do it on per user basis, can't set at the server level). I am not sure what is supposed to be listed under the "server" parameter.

I tried to enter one of the domain controllers or one of Terminal Servers names, both times got an error "Unable to set user information. Error = 1317"

    Thanks for your help,
    Marina

    Re: tscmd parameters

The "server" should be one of your domain controllers. That error is ERROR_NO_SUCH_USER. So, either you are entering an incorrect user, or an incorrect server.

Thanks for a quick reply! Is a user supposed to be in <domain name>\<username> format?

        Re: tscmd parameters

I am not sure what format the API used by this utility expects for the server, but in general, when going to a server, the user in question is already on that server, so the username part of the parameters most likely should be just the username. If a domain user, you can use any writable domain controller. If an NT environment, you need to use the PDC for the server name.

          Re: tscmd parameters

Everything's working now. I misspelled the domain controller name. Thank you!
