When attempting to export software installed for a system (Installed Software (MSI)) using Export from selected objects, it generates a file containing only the column headers. If you run it several times for the same system, you could eventually get non-blank results.

Not sure how to accomplish this. I was given an .INI file with the query defined in it, but don't know how to create this manually.

Find the computer in Hyena, then right-click and choose WMI->Execute Query. That one might not be a default query, so click the New button and type in Installed Software WMI Query Name box, and Win32_Product in WMI Class box, then click OK. On the right-hand side are the Properties that you can add, and once you've added the fields you want click Execute Query.
