  • How can i provide authentication credentials for Domain level

    Hi there,

I want to get local administrator details for each machine for all machines (desktops and servers) in my network.
Now first i need to provide Authentication credentials @ my domain or PDC level, but i get error. This is what i do:
1 - Open Hyena Version 8.6 on widnows 7 machines by right click -- run as administrator
2 - Highlight the domain name Icon (the icon looks like a glob with our domian name XYZ)
3 - Right click on domain XYZ --go: authentication credentials -- i get below error:
A DNS formatted domain path and /or server must be used in order to provide alternate credentials. Use Object Manager (File -> Manage Object View) to change the setting for this domain to use DNS-Style paths)

    Then i went:
    File -- Manage Object View
and i could see a record there with our XYZ domain name and icon looking liek a glob, under OBJECTS TAB, but i dont know what settings i should change and what values to put?!

Once you get to Object Manager, click on your domain, then click the button beside ADSI Path and see if it finds your domain. That will put the proper path for you, which will look similar to:

    LDAP://somedomain.com

Click Update to save the change and then OK to close Object Manager and see if you are able to enter credentials.

The larger issue, though, is this will not pass to local computer information but rather only applies to AD data. If you need to run a report of computer data such as local users, etc, your best bet would be to start Hyena using Run As. Windows will then use those credentials when accessing information from each computer.

If that is not an option for whatever reason, you can try Logon As. You will select your computers in the right-hand window, then right-click and choose Logon As.
