Wildcards not working as expected for filenames

I'm having trouble searching for specific files. Am using Hyena 7.5B and the "Exporter".

Given these files:
junk.doc
junk.xls
somejunk.doc
somejunk.xls
junknew.doc
junknew.xls

This file filter: junk.*
returns these file names: junk.doc and junk.xls

This file filter: junk*.*
returns NO file names

This file filter: *junk.*
returns NO file names

So - the 1st file filter is working as expected, but the other 2 filters are NOT working as expected.

Can someone shed some light on this for me?

Hyena version is 7.5B

We've changed this behavior for an upcoming version. I'll email you a link for that in case you want to test it.
