Re: Export Printers from the Regristry
It works, but ... I need to be a bit more granular or find an alternative method. This extracts way too much information and I cant figure out how to sort it by the target PC. It appears to lump it all in one.
What I tried:---
I created a job in exporter pro to extract the: Regristry_Data %value% from the reg key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Providers\LanMan Print Services\Servers
I also tried to extract information from here. but all my results are empty.
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Devices
What about creating a Macro to export this REG key to a file per machine. Im also still very "green" but these
Thanks.

The reporting part can be done using Exporter Pro. It has a Registry export section where you can create a template for the key you are looking for. You can use the pre-defined templates as examples on how to setup yours.

Export Printers from the Regristry
Good Evening, any help on this would be appreciated.
I need to run a script or report against X number of PC's.
I need to find out what printers are installed and how they are installed.
IP based
Network (windows)
Network (Novell)
I need this exported into a report so I can have the staff manually fix our issues. OR have this
For example If i browse in my regristry to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\print\providers\lanman prin services\servers"
I can see the printers installed from whatever windows print server. I need to either export this out or figure out another way to determine where the printers are mapped from.
Or figure out a way to Change \\printserverA to \\printserverB (To a wew print Server)
I want to avoid sneaker netting. Thanks again.Tags: None
