  • Auditing Servers

Hyena Exporter pro gives us a list of servers or computer objects. I need to filetr out the servers we dont need from a production audit list.
Is there a way to select/filter only those servers from my text file. Can i set up a static Computer list instead of the one that uses active directory? Currently we export then use EXCEL to filter servers. Is there an easy way to filter or import a list?

Exporter Pro has an option under the Configuration menu to Import Object File. That file can be a list of computers.

It's a text file, and I believe you can just put one server per line in the file.

Thanks. It works. Now i have duplicate objects on my exporter lits. It read the file but also has duplicate objects from Active directory. I can only delete one at a time. Is there a way to start exporter pro with only the TXT file object list? I looked at the configuartion menu and it only for export. How do i delete the old object list ?

                  Re: Auditing Servers

Ok thanks. Now I want to run the Object List from command line prompt.

                  stexport.exe /CONFIG=Path\Configuration_File_Name.INI d:\Program files\Hyena\Hyena_Exporter_Pro.INI

The command fails to recognize the object list file even though its coded in Exporter.ini. It runs from the original list bypassing the object file. See attached INI. Email sent to Chuck and [email protected] with INI file.
It works but i need command line to pick up object file list

                    Re: Auditing Servers

When you get that error it is typically due to it not finding the actual ini file. If what you put above is the command line you are using, that is incorrect, and should be:

                    stexport.exe /CONFIG=d:\Program files\Hyena\Hyena_Exporter_Pro.INI

                      Re: Auditing Servers

I am using the command in the Windows Task scheduler.

                      "C:\Program Files\Hyena\stexport.exe" \CONFIG=C:\Program files\Hyena\Hyena_Exporter_Pro.INI""
                      "C:\Program Files\Hyena\stexport.exe \CONFIG=C:\Program files\Hyena\Hyena_Exporter_Pro.INI"

Each command gives the Exporter popup but ignores path. From command line it works stexport runs in background

Change your slash in front of CONFIG to:

                        /CONFIG

It appears when there are quotes on the RUN filed it automatically changes forward slash to backslash. I had to remove quotes on either end but now the schedule task errors with could not start

Resolved. Removed all quotes and path in the RUN field of task scheduler

Not sure on that one. Try getting it to work from the Command Prompt, then you can try troubleshooting Task Scheduler.
