  • Filtering share scan

When scanning for shares with ExporterPro I would like to be able to filter the computers by name and/or IP address with some sort of regular expression. The problem is that the network is much too big to be scanned at once. Also, I might be intersted in a small subset of computers for the scan.

    Thanks,

If you're using Hyena, you can select the computers you want in Hyena, then use the Export Selected Objects function. You could select a particular OU for example, or filter down to the computers you want and select them. If you aren't using Hyena, you can still manually enter in objects, such as an OU, or OUs, or use the filtering options available on the General tab.

I don't have Hyena, I'm using ExporterPro and the filters in the 'general' tab are too coarse for my needs. How can I filter with higher granularity?

      Thanks

Those are the only filtering options available. You can import in a list of computers, if you have a way of filtering them beforehand.

Is there a way to pass a list of the computers I want to scan instead of the those I want to skip?

Yes, go to the Configuration Menu and choose Import Object File.
