  • How to export specific file

I need to run an export of all Servers and workstations on my domain. I am looking for a specific file that contains in the text of that file the words "Cant finish forced install".

The file is called FrmInst_PC*.log - and it is always in either the windows\temp directory or winnt\temp directory.

I know this can be done, i just do not know how to do it.

Thanks for the help in advance

Re: How to export specific file

Exporter Pro can search for the file for you, but it can't search in the file for specific text. You'll probably have to put together a script of some sort to handle that.

Select the computers you want searched in Hyena's right window, then go to Tools->Exporter Pro->Export From Selected Objects. Click the Settings button, then double-click on File/Directory. Click the New button and create a new template. The template is where you'll specify what shares/directories you want searched and the name of the file to search for. When you have that click Close and then Start Export. When it has finished searching you can open the output file with Excel.
