  • Query for last logon date\time

A few months ago I ran a query that would spit out all my users along with an entry that showed their last logon date and\or time. I thought I saved that query but I can't find it nor can I repeat my first success. Can anyone help me with this??

    Thanks and happy holidays!!!

You'll want to use Exporter Pro for this. Click on your domain in Hyena to select it, then go to Tools->Exporter Pro->Export Selected Objects. Click the Settings button, then double-click on Active Directory(Users,Groups). Then double-click on Detailed User, enable it and enter an output file name.

Verify that you have Last Logon listed to export, then click the Set Options button and check the option to export from all domain controllers.

From there click OK all the way back to the dialog where you can click Start Export.

One note: If you have a multiple DC domain, make sure you go into the properties of the query and click the Set Options button and check "Enable exporting user..." and "Export combined/last logon information..."

Otherwise you don't get the true last logon of your users.

If you're in a pure Windows Server 2003 environment, you might want to take a look at the Last Logon Time Stamp attribute. Since it's replicated, you don't have to query every DC. Just keep in mind that this information is only refreshed every 14 days or so.
