  • repoting on Home folder

We have home folders located one level below the main share. Example \\servername\home is the share but the folders contained within aren't shared. Is there a way to report on what folders are there and the size? I found that I can report on either shares or all subdirectories but I only need a specific share and the contents within.

I found my mistake, I was using File/Directory but I was typing \\servername\home when I should have been just typing home

    Thanks.

Exporter Pro's File/Directory export will do this for you. Create a template and specify the share you want searched. You can also specify that you want directories only, or files as well.

Could you please explain in more detail how to create this report?

What specifically are you wanting to report on?

I would like the homefolder size (including all subfolders and files) in one entry/user.

The File/Directory template in Exporter Pro can be used for this. It includes a field called Dir Files(Bytes) that calculates the total size of each directory including the files beneath that point. You have to export information on all files, though, so you can end up with a rather large output file.
