Lets play "help a newb". I am in need of a complete software inventory for all my pc's and servers. Using the exporter, pulling from registry/installed software apps I get mostly what I need. The list is missing some crucial software, for example: Office. It shows in the properties page, software tab of an individual pc so I figure Hyena is capable but I cant find the solution. Thanks for any help.

I believe both methods pull from the Uninstall key on a computer, so there shouldn't be any missing information in the export.
If you open the output file with Excel and sort on the Display Name column, you don't see the Microsoft Office entries? -

Thx, Display name is a blank column. With that clue, I did find that it is pulling the info but most items in list we were seeing the name in the "registry_key_name" column, while the key for office, instead of "office.." it shows they key {904....231}. So I guess my question now is, why is my display name not showing in the report?Comment

Update, Had my boss try it on his pc. Worked like it should. Differences are, he has ver 6.6 I have 6.6B. He is on Xp, I have 2000.Comment

Thx for your help. I have definately learned alot about Exporter Pro today. I deleted all the .ini and .txt files that I have created and started fresh. Set up the export again and waalaa. Still doesnt make sense that I had a column of "display name" and it was blank but we'll chalk this one up to "operator headspace".Comment
