Importing Object File Doesnt Work

I created a new Configuration File and which also creates a new Object File. I saved them both to my HDD. Ran a few reports using these settings; worked great.

Since then I have deleted them from my view in Exporter Pro. Now I go to Configuration > Import Hyena Object File > Browse to the file and click OK.

Nothing appears in the left view panel. No error message. I can Open an "Export Configuration" file just fine but I can't seem to import an "Object File"

Yes I've RTFM and searched the forums

Test the Import Object File option rather than the Hyena Object File and see what that gives you.

Same result. I actually tried that option first. Then I started this post and I thought "well I shoudl try the 'import hyena object' too" and again, same result.

No error but no display of my object on the left pane.

Email a copy of your object file to [email protected] so we can see what's going on with it.

Did some more testing....

I saved a copy of the file. Opend the copy with TextPad. The file was empty! Dunno why or how but sure enough; nothing in the file.

So it prolly is importing it fine; There's just nothing to display!

I created a new one now. This one imports. However the Display Name and Comment are different than what I enterd. Both fileds just say "reserved". Is it pulling that info from Active Directory?

Exporter Pro's help file details the file formatting for import files. Make sure you have it exactly as outlined there.

Hmm it should be exact; I didnt edit the file outside of Exporter Pro. It was saved by Exproter Pro, then I imported it into Exporter Pro, and it's different.

I'll check it with TextPad vs. the exact syntax in the Help files.

The file created by Exporter Pro is not designed to then be imported. You'll need to follow the structure detailed in the help file for creating your import file.
