  • "Members of" exporting

    Hi,

I go to the "CORP" container, and then "ALL Groups", and locate the group "MOE_USERS" that I wish to export the list of members in to a CSV file.

In the right hand pane, I can only see 5 columns:

cn, Display Name, Description, class and PRE-W2K Name.

I want to know, how do I add in another column (say...profile path)?

This particular group covers approximately 3500 users across 36 sites.

I cannot seem to find a way of adding another column of information into this pane.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards

    RR

You can't add fields to that particular display, but what you can do is select the members in the right window, then right-click and choose Tabular Views->User(Detailed).

Yep...tried that...then for some reason, half of the people on the list disappear.

Looks like I'll have to do it manually.

      Thanks anyways.

You generally can't run a query on that number of objects as Active Directory does not permit more than a couple of thousand connections. The only way to get a group member listing on a large number of users like this is to use Exporter Pro. We have a default AD template for doing this already.

Any instructions or advice that you can give would be most appreciative. No use having a tool that can't be used to its full potential.

My contact details for a direct E-Mail would be "[email protected]".

            Re: "Members of" exporting

To do this, you can click on your group in Hyena, then go to Tools->Exporter Pro->Export Selected Objects. Click the Settings button, then double-click on Group Members under Active Directory (Users, Groups...)

Check the box to enable this export, then specify an output file and location. Click OK until you get back to the Configuration Properties dialog and make sure nothing other than this option is bolded. If there are, double-click each and disable them.

Then click Close and Start Export.

When that is finished open the output file with Excel and you'll see the information. If you need to add additional fields, use the instructions on this post:
