  • Export all Groups and Members

    Hello,

I am attempting to export all of the local groups on a server as well as enumerate the membership for each group. I am not sure how to accomplish this. I can export the groups and I can export the members of a specific group, but I cannot export all of the groups and all of the respective members.

Any suggestions? Sorry I am new to Hyena, but find it to be an amazing tool!

You can select the server, or servers in Hyena, then go to Tools->Exporter Pro->Export Selected Objects. Click the Settings button, then double-click on Windows NT/Local Groups. Enable and configure the Export Group Members section of that dialog, then run the export.

      Thanks,

I found this after posting. I did not have exporter pro installed, it made a big difference.

      Thanks again!

Re: Export all Groups and Members

        Hi

Just took a look at this and thought wow that would be great! If I could export all the global groups and members on a server.

Not sure if this is right but I created to blank text files thinking it would export the information into them. Unfortunately all I got was the headings not the groups or the members.

        Any ideas?

        Thanks Shona

Re: Export all Groups and Members

Tell us the exact steps you took, what options you chose, etc. You don't have to create the files as Exporter Pro will do this for you.

Re: Export all Groups and Members

            Did this as you wrote

Tools->Exporter Pro->Export Selected Objects. Click the Settings button, then double-click on Windows NT/Local Groups

Then on NT/Local Group Tab ticked Export groups and selected Global only.
Ticked Export Group Members and slected Global Group Members Only
OK Close and then Start Export

            Thanks

Re: Export all Groups and Members

Select the option for both Local and Global members and see if you get any output there. If not, send a screen shot of your settings, and the exact steps you are taking to run this to [email protected].

Re: Export all Groups and Members

If you look at your output file, were there only Global groups as members? I just want to make sure that the reason choosing the other option fixed it was due to it not having any Local group members rather than an issue we need to address.
