You'll actually run this against selected computers, and the template is where you indicate what shares or file types you want it to export permissions on.
I'm trying to export the security share and NTFS permissions for a bunch of shares. So, do I add the same objects in the left pane as I do under the File/Directory section?
I thought I should've added the shares as Active Directory Shares objects in the left pane and then just ran the Security Access export.
Let me know where I've strayed. Thanks!

Re: NTFS, Share, Group Membership Export
You'll have to give it a template to work off of, basically you can specify the share(s) you want searched, types of files, etc.
To do this you will use the File/Directory export in Exporter Pro.
With the latest version of Exporter Pro, available in beta now, you can export the share and NTFS permissions for the shared directory to the same file. If you need other permissions for files and folders within the shared directory, then you will need to configure a file/directory export template.
If you want to use the beta, send a blank email to [email protected].

Re: NTFS, Share, Group Membership Export
All 3 can be done using Exporter Pro, but you can't tie them together so that you only get group members for the groups in the file or share outputs. The group members output would be for all groups for the objects you are exporting against.
With that, though, you should be able to join them using something like Access to produce whatever reports you like.
Is it possible to run 3 related reports where you export the share permissions, NTFS file level permissions, and then take whatever groups are listed on those and export the membership to another report? I don't care if the reports are 3 seperate reports, as long as the data is related.
This would be infinitely helpful in some SOX stuff we have going on. Thanks!
