  • Exporter Pro Question

Hi, I have been banging my head on the wall for some time with this one. There is probably a easy way to do this, but for some reason it's not clicking. I would like to run a report that basically gives me the machine information "manufacture, operatings system, service pack" and user information"profile name" together in one document. Like I said earlier I know there is a way to do it; however, I am clueless.

    Re: Exporter Pro Question

In a Windows 2000/2003 domain you can use the Active Directory Computers export to get Service Pack and OS information. What do you mean by "user information profile name"?

      Re: Exporter Pro Question

We use local profiles here at our shop. It's a pain in the butt, figuring out user's workstations remotely because the naming convention is weak and no one has bothered to build a roadmap or run network audting software on the system. I would like to create a spreadsheet from Exporter show that would give me the workstation details as well as the current user logged in, something similiar to

computer | model | user or profile name...etc ins spreadsheet. I can pull all the machine information, I haven't figured out to add the user attribute in running my query.

        Re: Exporter Pro Question

You'll have to use a separate export for the logged on users. In Exporter Pro is an export called Logged On Users that will give you this information.

Cool, and in using this will it tell me what machines the user is logged onto?

            Re: Exporter Pro Question

It will tell you what users are logged on at each computer. Once you open the output file with Excel or Access you can sort on either computer or user.
