  • Identify unauthorised remote control software

    Hello all,
I'd like to identify any computers running unauthorised copies of remote control software on our network.
Can anybody give me any tips on how to do this ?, are there any instructions available.?
    Many thanks
    Howard

Re: Identify unauthorised remote control software

If you can identify a key file, you can use the new Exporter Pro to scan all of your computers looking for that file. The general idea would be to setup a file/directory template to look for a particular file(s), then have it look in either a particular directory, or all shares (ie all drives) if need be and have it scan all subdirectories too.

An easy way to test this would just be to place a file named "badremote.exe" in a directory on a known computer and just run the scan on that to make sure that it finds the file, then change the file names to be what you want to scan and run it on all computers. It might take a few minutes per computer if you are scanning all drives.
