    Re: Hitting Export Limitations

This happens when you run it against a large selection of objects. The alternative is to run it against the domain itself or an OU.

I'm getting the same error message. What's the solution to this? Thank you.

    Re: Hitting Export Limitations

The portion of the error that you are getting referring to "the server is not operational" almost ensures that you are running out of AD connections when performing this export. Right clicking on the users in Hyena and selecting the option to view group memberships will almost certainly get the same error.

You need to provide what steps you are taking to perform this export. If you are selecting the objects in Hyena and selecting the Exporter Pro->Export Selected Objects on these thousands of users, this would be the source of the problem. AD can only handle a few thousand connections at one time. To get a listing of thousands of users, you need to perform any query either through the domain or an OU so that only that level needs to be connected to.

Either way, provide us with the steps that you are taking to run this export.

    Try this as a test:

Select your groups in Hyena's right window, then right-click and choose View Group Members. See if that will complete. If so, you will end up with the information you are looking for, and can save that to a delimited text file.

    Re: Hitting Export Limitations

I ran it again and I am getting some errors. It states:
Exporting directory information for Detailed user..... unable to open directory object ldap://dhcp.amerquest.net/CN=William Andino, OU=v-n-houston,OU=Branch User, OU=Branch,DC=ameriquest,DC=net. The server is not operational. I have this on several of the accounts. I am guessing these are the items missing and it is due to network traffic. I have tried several DC and get the same thing. What do you suggest??

    Re: Hitting Export Limitations

No errors. It completes. I am not stoping it in any way.

I am exporting the following fields:
Display name, Pre-W2k Name, Department, Last login, allow dialin, member of, DN, When created.

I am not trying a new export where it checks every DC for the last logon info. This has been running for about 17 hours now. When I cam in this morning it was hung on one of the accounts waiting for me to say ok. Now it is only on accounts starting with "Craig S" There has to be a better way????

    HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!

    Re: Hitting Export Limitations

There should be no limit on what it can export, so something is happening that is causing it to stop short.

Are you getting any errors? Does it say Export Completed, or are you stopping it prior to that?

When you look at your output file, is it stopping on the same account each time? If so, is there anything different about that account?

    What exactly are you exporting?

    Hitting Export Limitations

I have over 16000 user accounts in my domain. I am trying to run a report that includes what groups the users are a member of. If the "Generate report" through MS Access it cuts off most of the data in the members off group due to the 255 char limit that Access has. If I run the report through exporter pro and send it to a text file, I get all of the detail in the members of group but it will only output half of my user list. For a total of 9152 lines of data out of 16000+ users/lines.

How can I export all of my required data?
Working...
