  • report to an accessdatabase

    Hi,

    im totally new at hyena.
i read that only the content from the listwindow can be imported to the database.

but when i try to import the content of my right window ( user with detailed general view ) i only see the directory name in the table ( 1 column )

How can i import the other colums from the view in the right list to the appropriate table ???

      Re: report to an accessdatabase

      Hi,

I use Windows XP Prof. German Sp1
      and Access 2003 German.

      And another Question.

There are some predefined Tables in the database ( like userdetails , sessions ) but why are they still empty ??

        Re: report to an accessdatabase

I believe this is caused by a problem related to the default delimiter used by Access, so we added an option for Hyena to use the same delimiter as Access is expecting.

Go into regedt32 and add the following under:

        HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adkins Resource\Hyena\Customize

Create a new value named "LastReportDelimiter", set it to a REG_SZ data type and give it a value of ";".

This is to change the delimiter used by these reports to a ;.

Let us know if that fixes the problem.

            Re: report to an accessdatabase

Like you said in your first post, tables only get populated with the data from the right window. If you view Sessions, then run the report it will populate that table.

The exception to this is with Active Directory data. There are no pre-defined tables if the data being reported is AD data. This will create a new table, using the name you specify when you run the report. If Hyena puts a table name in there for you, then there will be a match in the database.

                One last question.

when i generate a report for printer from different machines.
it is possible to add the lines to the existing report instead of delete the old rows.

                  Re: report to an accessdatabase

When you run the report there is an option that you can choose to Append rather than Overwrite.

                    ok got it..
is there a way to automate this instead of
clicking all clients in a network.

No, but you should be able to get what you need using Exporter Pro under Tools->Exporter Pro.
