  • Importing event logs into SQL

    I am trying to import event logs into sql using DumpEvt - but I commonly get this error msg:

    "SQLState = 22001, NativeError = 0
    Error = [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]String data, right truncation
    SQLState = 22001, NativeError = 0
    Error = [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]String data, right truncation
    SQLState = 22001, NativeError = 0
    Error = [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]String data, right truncation
    SQLState = 22001, NativeError = 0
    Error = [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]String data, right truncation
    SQLState = 22001, NativeError = 0
    Error = [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]String data, right truncation
    SQLState = 22001, NativeError = 0
    Error = [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]String data, right truncation
    SQLState = S1000, NativeError = 0
    Error = [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Unexpected EOF encountered in BCP data-file"

    Anyone else run into this?

    I am wondering if I should have my tables configured specifically or if there is a standard table/import-file format that may be working for someone else I can try.

    Re: Importing event logs into SQL

    Well, I got that fixed - just imported the dumpevt files into access and then modified the SQL tables according to how Access had identified them.

    As you can see, the help I got on this was TRULY immeasurable. LOL

    But now I am getting an "Unexpected EOF encountered" and not sure how to get around it. Perhaps this is one some of you may know? I am using dumpevt import files against MS SQL 2000.
    Thanks!
