  • Using Hyena and Exporter Pro to get list of servers

First of all, I have been evaluating Hyena since 4.7...decided to wait until I really got into using it because I wanted to wait until I evaluated this other product my organization purchased. For servers, I was not NOT happy. So I will be pushing management to purchase the necessary licenses...this product is EXCELLENT.

My problem is though I am trying to get a list of EVERY server in the environment and it's not picking up any of my exchange clusters/servers and they are up. Matter of fact it's not picking up SMTP in the Server list. How do I make Hyena do this? I needed this list yesterday so any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using the latest version of Hyena...

Re: Using Hyena and Exporter Pro to get list of servers

In Hyena if you are looking at the Servers folder, this list comes from your Windows Browse List. So, you will only see the servers that are on the browse list that have reported themselves as being servers.

If you are using the Set Filter option in Exporter Pro, you might try the option to get computers from SAM rather than the Browse List option. This option should query each computer directly to find out what type it is, and the output file will only list those that match your filter.
