  • Reports & Exporter Issues (Not Working)

Haven't run any reports lately, they did work and then i sat down todya to run some admin reports to the hyenarpt.mdb... (ie; ctrl-P when viewing user details, Hyena prompts me for the type of report/reportname and then appears to grap the data and fires off Access and then it looks like it tries to bring the data in and nothing happens... When I resorted to using Exporter Pro ... it doth protest and tells me "Unble to Open:"Output File" file.

any and all help would be appreciated...

Can you give more details on this statement?

"fires off Access and then it looks like it tries to bring the data in and nothing happens..."

Is the data sent to the Access database?

Re: Reports & Exporter Issues (Not Working)

      What I mean is...

In Hyena I do a "select all" of the users I want a report of, CTRL-P (to run the report)- name the table "Test",Access starts and the data from Hyena gets passed to access at which point a table gets created called "test" and opens the Table - this using the default Hyena tabular view "Users Summary". Now I'd swear up and down that this didn't work yesterday.

That said this default report works this morning. However what I'm really trying to get out is a report based on a 'Custom Tabular View" based on a query i put together which has the following in it (Display Name): Directory Name, Pwd Last Set, Expires, Lockout Time, Notes, Comment, Role, Allow DIalin, Role... When I try and report against this view, Select all, CTR-P - specify report name of "Test", Access opens the previous "Test" gets deleted, the screen in access flashes briefly as if data is being passed and then nothing... not table named Test... This used to work in prior versions of Hyena - currently running vers.5.7

Hope this helps to clarify my rather vague charaterization of the issue previously. And yes Data I believe is being passed based on the default view being sent over to a table called test.

Thanks for the additional detail! I tested this by creating a query just like yours, and was able to duplicate the problem. It seems that when you have a field listed twice, Access doesn't know what to do with that.

What I did was simply remove the duplicate Role entry from my query, and Access worked after that.

Test this and let us know if that fixes it for you too.

          as Homer said...

          "dooOH!

I feel like such an idiot and thanks for pointing out the duplicate query request...

ON a different note but related to the same report I'd like to add in to the report the "Logon" list from the user's properties field that specifies whcih machines a given user account is allowed to logon to. Do you know what the Attribute Category/Schema Attribute this corresponds to?

              Again thanks for your help.
