  • DumpSec on cluster share

I am trying to get File Permission stats by running the "Dump Permissions for File System" report.

The report runs but in certain areas where I expect to see the rights a particular user or group has, I get a string of alpha-numeric characters.....anybody know why..?

    Any feedback is appreciated.

Give us an example of what you are seeing, and what the permissions should be.

      Here it is>

      Account Dir
      AB\AB-Human Resources ax001201ff
      File
      ax001201ff

I expect to see All or R or X or something.

Unfortunately we aren't sure what would cause DumpSec to report it this way.

You might try the View NTFS Security function in our Hyena product for this.

I report fine going to a standard file/share. I get this when I report off of
          our file cluster share.

This problem is probably caused by allocating special rights.

cmccullough, do you now know how to solve this problem?
