File / Folder / Group Membership ?

Can Hyena create a report in Excel format, listing file/folder rights and permissions and group membership? My boss asked for a report listing these items and I don't know how to create it.

You can right-click on a share and choose View NTFS Security. Choosing the 3rd option will scan all files in all subdirectories.

When that is finished you can do a Ctrl-a Ctrl-c to open the Copy List Window to save that to a delimited text file.

This will give you an ACL dump for all of these files and directories.

As far as group memberships, you'd have to run that separately using the File->Export->Members function.

Thank you! Worked really good except on the copy function. Must be that Excel will only except so much copy data. The report was pretty large.

When using the Copy function (Control-C), you can either copy the data to the clipboard or to a .txt file. There may be limitations to the clipboard copy, but there should not really be any for a delimited text file.

I know that Excell will only import only so much data from a csv or txt file. If you import the data from Access it will accept all of it.
