  • Reporting for multiple units - howto?

How can I make a report for, say, drivespace on all units in a given domain at once?
I can do so, by selecting each computer one by one, but can I do it on all at once? And can I 'schedule' it, so it does as soon as the computer goes online, if it shouldn't be when I request the info?

I've got UniCenters system as alternative, but I sacked it half a year ago, as it was too clumpsy and slow.

You can select multiple computers in Hyena's right window. For example you can click on the Computers object to display computers in the right window.

In the right window you would Ctrl-click on the computers you want to report on, the right-click and choose Drive Space.

There is a command-line exporter.exe in your Hyena directory that can be used for scheduling this process. You would create a batch file with the computers you want to export disk space information for, then schedule that batch file with the Windows scheduler.

      Okay.
      Great.

Does that work for other information too, or only for drivespace? When I rightclick I don't get a shitload of options, but only a handful. When I however go to Enterprise and browse my way, I get options to view shares, local groups etc. Can that be done too?
And in the command line, can I use wildcards for computer names or something? We've got over 2000 computers in our company, so the command line would be quite long if I'd choose all on this address manually.

      Regards,

The options that are not available when multiple computers are selected will be grayed out.

As far as the command line you will create a batch file and specify one computer per line.

Hyena's Generate Macro function can be used to create this batch file for you. To do so you will select the computers you want included in the right window, then go to Tools->Generate Macro.

The Macro Command String will by:

        exporter.exe .\export.ini domain %E%

Type in a batch file name and location then click OK. Hyena will create that 2000 line batch file for you.

I tried that ... I even emptied the explorer cache .... guess it must have been the proxy doing tricks.

              I works now though.
