Event Log report question

The report feature for Event log is great, except that when you have 5000 events in the Access table, it is difficult to tell what kind of event you are looking at (i.e. System, Application or Security).

I was wondering if there is a way to mark if the event is either System, Application or Security?

I tried to add a column called "Log", but it did not work.

There is a Source field which tells you whether it is Security, Application, etc.

what is the name of the field I should add? I tried "Log", as I have used in prior applications such as Crystal Reports, but it does not pull the data over

In the database you should see a field called Source which already contains this information.

The source field does not report what type of log file it is, it only reports the source of the information. Example would be DCOM, Browser, ... typically the service name, or possibly an application name.

I need a field to show which log file it came from.... either the System, Application, or Security log.

I guess it helps if I pay attention to the question!

Log information is not included in the data that is exported to the database, so unfortunately there would be no way to distinguish it in the database. Adding an additional field in the database won't work because all of the fields that are being sent are actually in the right window of Hyena.

I will check with Development and see if there is anyway that this can be added and sent along with the other fields.

That would be a great feature. I love what it can do now, but when I have a database with entries from 100+ servers, it get's to be a lot

This feature will be available in v4.3, scheduled to be released August 1.
