  • Printing Members of all Groups in one report

I was thrilled to see the "View NTFS Security" option when I right-clicked on Shares in the right pane.

I expected a similar capability under Local and Global Groups by highlighting multiple Groups in the right pane and right-clicking to see "View Members", but no such luck. All I get is "Copy Groups".

How can I print a single report that lists all Members of highlighted Local (or Global) Groups for me?

You can use the Export->Members function to export all group members to a delimited text file that can then be imported into Excel or Access for further manipulation.

If you don't have too many groups to report on, you can use the Run Report function, but use the Append option instead of overwrite. This will add each of the groups members to the database for your report.

If I do so, I get a file with group members of all servers on the domain. I only need to get the members of the lots of local groups on one particular file server. How?

To specify a particular server you will need to use the command line version of Exporter located in the Hyena directory.

The syntax for this will be:

        exporter.exe .\export.ini domain computer

It also worked with the GUI version after entering in settings.

          thx, Lutz
