    Re: Task Scheduler

I realize that; however, my research addresses the issue as if the Scheduled Tasks folder on the remote computers exist which it does not. So far I have not found any articles concerning this issue. Again, the two computers in question do not have a c:\windows directory which is where the Scheduled Tasks folder lives. They have c:\WinNT which does contain this folder. as a result the articles I have found are of no use. I was hoping that someone else had experienced this and could help. Thanks, Ed <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Originally posted by kstanush:

This isn't a Hyena problem, so you need to start searching Microsoft.com or Google and find a support article for this problem. You are getting the error in Hyena because the task interface is not there on the remote computers with this problem.

    Re: Task Scheduler

I just noticed that the computers in question do not have a c:\windows folder but do have c:\WinNT which is strange given the fact that all computers are running XP SP2. The only thing I can come up with is the fact that some were upgraded from 2000 Pro, others a clean install. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Originally posted by kstanush:

Very interesting. The KB you provided the link for stated:
How to Gain Access to a Remote Scheduled Tasks Folder in a Workgroup
    1. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
    2. Under Other Places, click My Network Places.
    3. Open My Network Places.
    4. Under Network Tasks, click View workgroup computers.
    5. Double-click the remote computer to view the scheduled tasks on that computer.
    6. Double-click Scheduled Tasks.

For the computers in question the "Scheduled Task" folder is not there?

Been there, done that. I can not see any difference even donw to the fact that nearly all our computers are Dell 2400 including the two with the problem. I can not find any info about Task Scheduler outside or Control Panel interface. --Ed

Guest started a topic Task Scheduler

    Task Scheduler

I have 30+ WinXP SP2 computers all configured the same. When selecting "Scheduled Jobs" on several computers "0" jobs are found. When going to Control Panel, Schedule Task on these computers the Jobs are listed, When right clicking Schedule Jobs in Hyena and selecting Add New Job [Task] the resulting error reads - Task Scheduler could not be found installed on the computer and/or on the selected remote computer. --Ed
