  • windows 2000 shutdown

Sometimes our windows 2000 servers hangs on a scripted reboot using the shutdown.exe. When I go into Hyena and try and do a shutdown, it gives me a warning that a shutdown is already in progress. How does it know this ? Is there a process running, a reg setting, a flag set, etc..

    Re: windows 2000 shutdown

The shutdown procedure is handled by Windows. Both shutdown.exe and Hyena use the same interface, which 'knows' that a shutdown is in progress, but how they know this is only known by Microsoft.

Hyena also might allow you to abort/stop the shutdown if its in the shutdown window interval, but again this is handled by Windows.
