  • Question on Hyena's Server Query

I'm curious, in the main tree of hyena, when you can expand "servers"

How does hyena tell what is a server and what is it, is it querying the O/S? What does hyena use, in order to know what is a server and what isn't?

    Thanks!!

Re: Question on Hyena's Server Query

This function queries your Windows Browse List and gets the list of servers from there. An incomplete list will indicate that the missing servers are not showing up on your browse list for some reason.

      Ok, that's cool.

If i'm not mistaken this is based on WINS, yes? So if we disabled WINS would this feature no longer work?

Re: Question on Hyena's Server Query

I don't know if WINS and the browse list are related or not. A search at Microsoft.com for "WINS browse list" might reveal some things.
