extras menu

i am just wondering what the menu 'extras' is good for (the one in the context menu). i could not find any options in it.

please let me know.

I think that is the Tools menu (in our non-English versions). If you go to the Tools main menu, there should be an option to Customize the tools menu. There is a Custom Tools forum in this discussion board that shows a lot of examples of tools to add.
