  • Open Files - Lock

    Hi all,

in the Open Files object there is a column 'Locks'. In that column, some of the open files have a 0, others a 3. What does that mean? By what are some of them locked?

    Regards, lutz2

    Re: Open Files - Lock

According to Microsoft's documentation, the locks information "contains the number of file locks on the file".

    You can read 'more' at:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...info_3_str.asp

I believe that this number just represents how many locks, generally users, are using the file. Why a file would appear with a zero is unclear, unless these are just still considered locked by the o/s.
