  • problem with dumpevt on windows 2003

We are working with Windows 2003 and we are using this comand:
    dumpevt.exe /all /logfile=sec /computer=name /outfile=c:\temp.txt

    We obtain this messagge error:

    ReadEventLog rc=1783 cbReq=1244880

It creates the outfile but is empty.
    It's due to what?

    Can you help us?
    Thank you in advance.

That error looks like either a communications issue of some sort, or the log is corrupted.

Try reading the event log outside of DumpEvt to see if you get the same error.

This error message it's the same when i run the dumpevt locally on the remote machine, the windows 2003.

The DUMPEVT.exe is the same for windows 2000 and for windows 2003?

      Thanks.

Yes it is the same as there is only one version of DumpEvt.
