Computer Objects Grayed Out yet the machine is active

When I enumerate all machines in my domain, some machines show up with a blue icon and others have a grayed icon. I had thought the blue icon meant the machine was active on the network. Some of the machines that show up grayed are actually active, but the icon never turns blue. What is required to make this happen?

This information comes from your Windows Browse List, so any computers that are missing from the browse list will show up with a gray icon. The only solution is to figure out why they are missing from your browse list.
