  • Rights required to run Hyena?

We have a group at my company that needs to be able to manage local administrator passwords on user desktops. This group has no responsibility for the domain or its servers--just the desktops.

Is it possible to manage local administrator passwords and run reports on desktop configs without having domain admin rights?

    Thank you in advance!

The best way to determine if this will work is to install Hyena on one of these user's computers and see if they can manage the other desktops from there.

Hyena uses many different Windows API functions that require varying levels of security, so it is difficult to say for sure what they would need.

One thing you can test for the password change is to right-click on a computer (select several computers) and choose More Functions->Set Account Password. You will enter the username to modify and the new password and click OK.
