I have not located a COMPAQ server serial number in the Registry, but if you enable the COMPAQ Insight Manager Survey function, it regulary updates a text file, by default at path c:\Compaq\Survey\Survey.txt, that contains Serial Number and a detailed configuration inventory of hardware and software on that server. You can round up all the survey.txt files in one place with a script using a line per server copy \\servername\c$\compaq\survey\survey.txt servername_survey.txt. I have found using the inventory really useful in disaster recovery. I also use the Find and Findstr commands on a directory with all the server's survey files for capability assessment and type counts.

At this time, I don't think so. If, however, this information is contained in a remote system's registry, then in a future version (summer/fall 2002) we should be able to retrieve and display this information.

I was wondering if there would be anyway Hyena can somehow be interlinked with Compaq Insight manager or somehow be able to retreive either serial numbers or asset number or some other server details??
