  • HYENA over IP : with TCP/UDP ports are used ?

    hello,
i would like to know exactly the port TCP, UDP or ICMP over IP used by
HYENA to interact with an NT 4.0 Domain controler server, to know if may
be how it's difficult and how to implement settings into a Firewall or a VPN !

Here is the list of ports that we normally give out whenever someone is needing help getting Hyena to work through a firewall.

This came from a Microsoft Knowledge Base article, and we aren't sure which of these is needed, but hopefully it will give you a starting point.

PORT 135 (TCP or UDP) for Remote Procedure Call(RPC)Service
PORT 137 (UDP) for NetBIOS Name Service
PORT 138 (UDP) for NetBIOS datagram (Browsing)
PORT 139 (TCP) for NetBIOS session (NET USE)
ALL PORTS above 1024 for RPC Communication

Re: HYENA over IP : with TCP/UDP ports are used ?

Any version of Hyena. Hyena doesn't do its own communication over the network, but rather relies on Windows to do this.

These ports are what are recommended by Microsoft for RPC communication through firewalls.
