Change Home Directory Path for OU?

We have replaced our file server and I would like to change the home directory path to reflect this change. I'm like to know how to do this for an entire OU if possible rather than going into AD and doing each account seperately.

EXAMPLE:

Connect Z to \\server1\directory

CHANGE TO:

Connect Z to \\server2\directory

You can double-click on the OU to display it's contents in the right-hand window. In the right-hand window you can multiple select objects, so selece the users you want to modify (a couple of test users first) then right-click and choose Properties. On the Profile tab is where you will modify the path theb click OK to make the change.

Okay, I see where you can add the view to include the home directory path and this will be helpful.

Is there a way to do a find and replace for the server name? The users map to various locations with only the server name changing. I only want to replace the server name at this point as the department directores will be different per user.

EXAMPLE

User 1 – Connect Z to \\server1\department1
User 2 – Connect Z to \\server1\department2

CHANGE TO:

User 1 – Connect Z to \\server2\department1
User 2 – Connect Z to \\server2\department2

In that case you are going to have to select them by department, or however. Since you added the path to the view you can sort on that column to make selecting them easier.

Just an FYI on Home Directories. In a premiere class with Microsoft, we were told not to use the Home Directory setting you see under the profile tab. That when you do this, it uses the old NT4 mapping and sets your policy (processing?) synchronously. Even if you have the setting in a GPO for asynchronously processing. He stated to use the preferences instead.

Microsoft bought out that company (can't remember the name) and now in Windows 2003 and XP (client side extenions must be installed) or Native to Windows 2008 and 7. http://www.microsoft.com/download/en....aspx?id=24449

Go under the user side preferences and map your drives accordingly (we use security group targeting) but there is SO many ways to target mapped drives.

(We are going to be removing all home directories next week and soley use preference.)
