    I'm using 6.7D

Here's my problem: In my organization Home Directories are named Firstname Lastname but shared out as Firstinitial Lastname$ (which is our login id as well) I had understood that %username% would return the login id when I used that variable to create directories. When I use that variable in my Home Directory template I get Firstname Lastname as the share name. Have I misunderstood how this variable works? If so, what would I use to get the Firstinitial Lastname (or login name) returned for my share name?

    Re: %Username%

%username% comes from the Pre-Windows 2000 Logon Name. When creating your user, try entering the Pre-Windows 2000 Logon Name in the format you want your home directory and see if that will work.

That's sort of OK. That makes both the home directory name and the share name Firstinitial Lastname. Not what I want. I guess a script is the solution...
