Re: Unable to complete home directory configuration. Access Denied

Tried that. Get the following error:

Unable to complete home directory configuration. Unable to create home directory share "userx" on \\server. Access is denied

It actually creates the home directory (the other method didn't even do that) but it doesn't share it..

    Any ideas??

    Thanks

It looks like they have access to the homes share, so change this entry and see if that works:

    Share Directory Remote Mask
    \\server\homes\%username%

  • Unable to complete home directory configuration. Access Denied

    Hi

Ive created a new Home Directory template for a new Windows 2000 Domain Controller Server and am getting the following error when creating new users in Hyena:

Unable to complete home directory configuration. Unable to create directory "\\server\e$\homes\%username%". Error=5. Access is Denied.

The above works fine if Im a domain admin. Need to get this working for our HelpDesk who have Domain Account Operator rights.

Server NTFS rights are as follows:

    \\server\e$
    Domain Admin - Full
    Everyone - List Folder Contents
    SYSTEM - Full

    e:\homes
    Account Operators - FULL
    Domain Admins - FULL
    Everyone - List Folder Contents
    SYSTEM - FULL

    e:\Homes is Shared as homes
    Share Permissions
    Account Operators - FULL
    Domain Admins - FULL
    Domain Users - Read, Change
    SYSTEM - FULL

    Hyena Home Directory template settings:

    New Home Directory Mask
    \\server\%username%

    Home Directory (NTFS) Security Settings
    %username% - Change
    Domain Admins - FULL
    Account Operators - Change
    SYSTEM - FULL

    Share Directory Local Mask
    e:\homes\%username%

    Share Directory Remote Mask
    \\server\e$\homes\%username%

    Home Share Security Settings
    %username% - Change
    Domain Admins - FULL
    Account Operators - Change
    SYSTEM - FULL

What right am I missing to get this to work???

    Thanks
