  • hyena not created a share/just the folder

I am having a problem with Hyean 6 creating a user folder but not a share using the home directory template.
This is a windows 2000 server. The server name is GHS the folder is called users with subfolder inside it and its on drive C:

    Home dir mask is
    \\GHS\%username%$
    Share dir local mask is
    c:\users\teachers\%username%
    Share dir remote mask is
    \\GHS\c$\users\teachers\%username%
Permissions for directory and share are
    %username% change
    administrators full

This works on 2 other machines but not on this new server.

    Any help is appreciated.

When you create a user are you using the Add New, or are you copying an existing user?

I am using add new user.. It also will not update the directory/share info if I change the home directory path under a user.. It will prompt me for a template to use and it says the folder already exists and the folder will be modified, but it doesnt add any share information.

Please send the following two screen shots to [email protected]:

        Your home directory template.
The Profile tab of a new user before you click Add.

I solved my problem. When you do properties on a user and you goto the home directory and make a change to the path (such as replacing the username with %username%) hyena prompts you for a home directory template but it WONT update the directory share/security information. You have to actually copy the entire home directory mask and paste it in the home directory path for hyena to process the folder information.
