  • Creating folders within home directories revisited

I would like to get Hyena to create a "Mywork" folder within the home directory it's just created. I've seen previous posts about using batch files however I can't work out how the batch file knows the actual name of the home directory so that it can create the subfolder.

I guess the question is how to get Hyena to parse the %username% value through to a batch file. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

In your batch file you access the variables that Hyena sends to it as %1, %2, %3, etc.

To see what these are, create a batch file and put at the top:

    echo 1 = %1
    echo 2 = %2
    echo 3 = %3
    pause

Do this up to I believe %8, which will send the information to the screen so you can see what each one equates to. The pause will keep the window open so you can see the values.

Once you see which variables you need, you can simply use them like:

    md \\%3\Mywork

      Thanks for that!

I've actually just sussed it: the simplest of batch files

      md %1\mywork

      works a treat!

      Cheers
