  • Hyena Hanging Up if Running a Query with any TSE Fields

I have created a query where I need to see all user's TSE Home Directories. Any field that I use from the Terminal Server Attributes causes Hyena to stop responding. This can go on for hours and I have to ultimately "end-task" to quit Hyena. Any ideas waht is causing this? I am using v5.5 rev'B'.

    Thanks,
    GT

First see if the query is working at all by either finding an OU with only a few users in it, or create a test OU and add a couple of users and set a TSE attribute. Then, run the query and see if you get results.

What fields did you add in your query?
How many users are you running this against?

I just added "TSE Home Directory" to the Users (Detailed-General) query and I have also tried creating new queries from scratch using different criteria. Any time I put any of the TSE fields in, nothing, it just hangs up. We have over 16,000 users in AD.

In some cases (perhaps yours), tse data is too slow to retrieve to make it useful for multi-user data retrieval. Read my first reply and see if you can verify that the query is working.

            kstanush,

I created a query containing the display name, directory name, home drive, home directory, TS dome drive, and TS home directory (all the info I need) on an OU with 613 users in it. The query was successful but took about 4 minutes.

I am going to try and expand it to encompass maybe twice that many users and see what happens. I'll report back with the results later.

Okay, looks like I got it to work by using smaller goups of users. I just have to copy all of it out to a spreadsheet. Thanks for everyone's help.

You can also use the new Exporter Pro (part of Hyena v5.5) to export the data without tying up Hyena to do this lenghty operation.
