  • Home Directory Template Security

    Hi,

I want to give a global group LIST access in the "Home Directory (NTFS) Security Settings" in the Template Definition, but list isn't an option. Is there a reason for that? Can it be added?

    Thanks! Tracie

Hyena doesn't support this from home directory templates.

ohhh not good. Our home directories MUST have a group with list access only. Read is too much. Back to square one.

      Thanks anyhow.

This is a good use for a custom batch procedure, which Hyena can run as either part of the template, or for each user change. Executing it as part of the template would be the best idea. The only problem is that I don't know of a way with cacls/xcalcs to apply the List permission.

I don't know if this will help but you can specify the special permissions but the only problem is that you cannot actually view the permissions under NT4 using Explorer... You'll need to use xcacls to view them. You can view them under Windows 2000 though.

          e.g. xcacls c:\temp /P E;E /y
