  • Reporting on size of User Folders

Each of the Users on our systems have their own folder under a general share on one Server. I need to check on the (growing) size of these folders. Is there a simple way of reporting through Hyena, on the size of either the share "users" or preferably the size of the individual user's folders under this share.?

We had a similar request and found DIRUSE to be quite useful. I believe this is an NT reskit utility. Its similar to the DIR command but with a few extra bits.

if you needed to run this a number of times you could create a batch file using the "generate macro" facility.

I too recommend using DirUse, as it will give a nice summary of the directory size. Hyena can show the sizes of all of the files in a directory when you use the View Security... function, but it won't add up the file sizes for you like DirUse.

        Hi,

I have found an app call diskspace explorer pro which will basically break down disk space in a pie chart you can drill down each level.

It works through Hyena and also windows explorer by giving you an option of the menu.

Go to Google and search for "TreeSize". It's a neat little shell extension that lets you right-click any folder, and it'll calculate the size of the entire tree, and each respective folder underneath. I've found this util useful many times!

                Hi

We are using the tool "TreeSize Pro 2.43" for this job

                Important information:
                - the next release 3 will show the numbers of files and folders on every branches
