  • 'lastlogon' date incorrect... why?

I ran a report to list the lastlogon value for each AD user. I am concerned that some values to not appear to be accurate. For example, there is an account that says lastlogon=6/18/2008, but it was logged on as recently as 9/30/08. It seems that most accounts are listing the correct date, but the fact that there are some with an invalid date casts doubt on the validity of ALL the data retrieved. What might be causing this?

We do have 3 domain controllers and all three are listed under 'Set Source Domain Controller".

    Thank you!!

I'm having the same issue. What's the solution?

        This was the solution:

Click on your domain in Hyena, then go to Tools->Exporter Pro->Export
        >From Selected Objects. Click Settings and under Active Directory is the
Detailed User export. Double-click on it, check the box to Enable it, make sure Last Logon is on the side of current fields, then click the Set Options button to enable exporting from all domain controllers.
Click OK, OK, then Close, then Start Export.

To get last logon information from your users, it is best to use Exporter Pro for this because it can check all domain controllers. Last Logon is stored locally on each domain controller and not part of the data that gets replicated between them.

Click on your seleted users in Hyena, then go to Tools->Exporter Pro->Export From Selected Objects. Click the Settings button, then double-click on Detailed Users under Active Directory. Check the box to enable it and enter an output filename. Click the button for Set Options and check the box to export information from all domain controllers. Make sure Last Logon is listed in the fields to export. Then click OK, OK and Close.

Run that export and when finished you can open the output file with Excel.

Thanks for the quick replies. It is unfortunate that a person cannot easily then disable "stale" accounts from inside the system. Instead having to cross reference the output with AD or Hyena.
