  • Add SID field to view

I would like to be able to view the SIDs for groups or users, how can I add this field? We are still in a Windows 2003 legacy (NT4) domain.

Re: Add SID field to view

When you view users in the right window, what are the first two columns that you see? This will let me know which domain type you are using in Hyena and I'll be able to give you the correct instructions to add SID.

Go to Tools->Settings->Display, change the Display Mode to NT/Local User Details. In the right window find SID, click on it, then click the add button to add it to the Current Columns side. Click OK to close that, then right-click on Users and choose View All User Details. You should now see SID as the last column.

Re: Add SID field to view

I have gone into File/Manage Object View/WMI/Add New Query and added Win32_Group/Name and SID which does the trick for all groups on a Windows 2000/2003 server, but doesn't work on an NT4 PDC because of WMI limitations in NT4. Can I get SIDs for NT4 domain groups? I could use USER2SID.EXE as a tool, I suppose...

Thanks for your NT4 solution, I'll go ahead with that.

That works fine for Users, but the option to View All Details isn't available for Local or Global groups. It's Groups that I really want to see the SID for.

There's no way to add that to the Groups views in NT. Exporter Pro has a Windows NT/Local Groups export that you can use. It has a Group SID field that you can add.
