    Re: Global Groups

We are in the process of migrating to AD, to be complete in a few months. We have NT PDC & BDCs and 2003 servers.

I'm a little unclear what you meant by having an Windows 2003/NT domain. Verify if your domain is using Active Directory, and if so, you can change the domain type to gain a lot of additional functionality.

OK, Thanks. I'll check it out. I wondered if that might be the explanation.

The one question I forgot to ask is what type of domain you are in. From your screen shot I see you in an NT domain, which is why these options aren't working for you. In this case I believe your only option is going to be to use Exporter Pro under Tools->Exporter Pro and export the information for all users. You can then open the output file with Excel and sort it to find the user(s) you are interested in.

FYI, right-clicking/double-clicking on Local Groups for a computer works as expected!

Right clicking on Groups doesn't show any options at all.

One other thing for you to try while I'm waiting for the screen shots:

Right-click on Groups for a user and choose View. That should also display the groups in the right window.

    Re: Global Groups

Double clicking on groups in the left hand window just expands or contracts groups in the LH window and will not display groups in the RH window. Screeen shot to be emailed.

Click the plus sign beside Groups to see if it will expand that. If it does, make sure you are double-clicking on Groups to display them in the right window. If you don't get it working that way send a screenshot of what you're seeing to [email protected].

I should point out that we are in a Windows 2003/NT4 Interim domain, if that makes any difference.

When you double-click on the Groups object under the user, it doesn't display the groups in the right window?

This was the first thing that I tried but it wouldn't expand the groups in the right hand screen as we would expect. Does it work with yours? My version is 6.7.

One method would be to find the user in the left window, click the plus sign by the user to expand it, then double-click on Groups. The will display the groups in Hyena's right window. In the right window you can do a Ctrl-a to select the groups, then Ctrl-c to open the Copy List Window. That allows you to copy and paste into Excel.

    Global Groups

I want to export the groups to which a user belongs, to a text file. I can see the groups from within Hyena, but can't copy and export the list. Any suggestions?
