  • List Custom Attributes

I want to be able to view a custom attribute of the users so that I can copy into an excel spreadsheet.

I went to File>Manqage Object View
    AD Queries Tab
Changed Attribute Category to Exchange 2000 Attribute and added Custom 2

But maybe I'm in totally the wrong place! If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be good

    Thanks
    Shona

Is Custom 2 the correct attribute? Which query did you add this to?

      Re: List Custom Attributes

In AD if you go to the Exchange Advanced Tab there is Custom Attributes then there are custom attributes 1 to 15. I want to be view the attribute and copy to excel.

      Thanks for your reply

        Re: List Custom Attributes

Go to File->Manage Object View->AD Queries. Click on one of the Curent Queries, such as User(Detailed-General). In the lower right change the Attribute Category to Exchange 2000 Attributes. Select Custom 2 and add it, then click OK to save this.

To run this query, right-click on All Users and choose Tabular Views->User(Detailed-General) or the query you modified.

          Re: List Custom Attributes

Thanks I did all that but the custom attribute doesn't come up in the view.

I selected all users and went to Tabular Views but I only get Container/OU Summary.

When I go to an individual user it comes up with User(Detailed-General) but the column doesn't come up even though I did the first paragraph as you said.

          Any ideas would be great

          Thanks

When you expand your domain look for the object called All Users. Right-click on it and run the Users(Detailed-General).

Oops posted this to the wrong forum!

              Hi
Thanks for that I was trying it on an OU as we are a large company with various sites which is why I couldn't see the column I wanted.

Would have been good if it worked on our own but I can work with all users.

              Thanks again for your help

                Re: List Custom Attributes

The All Users query was just an example, and usually the easiest to find for most people. You can your field other queries as well:

Active Directory User queries are available when select users in the right window, then right-click and choose Tabular Views.

Container/OU queries are those that you get when you right-click on a container or OU.
