We constanly upgrade users from w2k to xp. We always forget to delete the old computers from the domain. Is there a query I can run to find computers that can safely be deleted from the domain, so we can clean house a little.

    Thanks

      Re: Old computers

Here's what I do. download oldcmp. Do a google search to find. I run the a scheduled task on the 1st of every month that disables all computer accounts that haven't had their passwords changed within the last 120 days. (oldcmp -disable -age 120 -unsafe -forreal)

I then run the following command about 10 days later to delet all DISABLED computer accounts that haven't had their passwords changed within 120 days. (oldcmp -delete -age 120 -onlydisabled -unsafe -forreal)

The lag time between the disable and actual delete gives people a week or so to notice their computer can't connect to network. Hope this helps.

I Placed the olcmd.exe file in the C:\Windows\System32 directory. Is there a way to run this tool from Hyena? Lets say you wanted to just query a certain OU? It works fine on its own.
